Pricing Structure

Edge to edge or pantograph designs are the most cost effective quilting design.  The cost of these designs begin at 2.5 cents per square inch and range up to 4 cents per square inch.  The variability in cost is based on the density of the quilting pattern; the denser the pattern the more time it takes.

Custom quilting which uses a variety of patterns on the quilt, quilt motifs and includes one or more borders begins at 4.0 cents per square inch.  Again we have a variety of patterns and designs to choose from.   To give you an idea:  This photo shows a custom quilt where two pantograph designs are laid out for use along the outside border, the other was stitched throughout the sashing, and the blocks were then custom quilted to complement the design in each block.  

Level 1 Quilting starts at $.025/sq inch – this is most "all over" E2E designs.

Level 2 Quilting starts at $.035/sq inch – a denser E2E design or different designs in borders and/or other blocks.

Level 3 Quilting starts at $.04/sq inch – different quilting in borders, ruler work.

Level 4 Quilting starts at $.05/sq inch – Custom hand guided quilting.  Lots of detailed   quilting.  Different in blocks, borders, etc.

Turning Quilt for border detail:  $35

Thread charges start at $8, $12-$15  for a denser pattern on a larger size quilt.

Variegated threads & invisible threads start at $16, $20 for a denser pattern on a larger size quilt.

Batting:  We carry 12 oz polyester batting, 100% bamboo, and a lighter 6oz bamboo blend, if you have any questions about these options, please ask.  We love the bamboo batting vs. cotton because it drapes so much more nicely and also because it doesn't hold onto the "fold lines" when a quilt has been stored for a while and is so much softer.  Also - no pesticides are used in bamboo while they are in cotton.

Time: Quilts are done on a first in, first out basis.  Rush option is available and will vary based on quilt size.  $25 - $75.

To determine the total number of square inches multiply the width x length.   To figure approximate cost for a simple edge to edge quilting service, multiply the total number in inches by the appropriate charge, ie:  .025 (for 2.5 cents), .030 (for 3 cents) or .040 (for 4 cents).   Calling for a quote on specific pattern and design costs will give you a more accurate idea but this formula is a starting point.  Sample edge to edge quilt price:  60" wide x 80" long = 4800 square inches.  4800 square inches x .025 = $120.  

Other services we provide are as follows:

 Pressing and prep: $15/hr.  **If your quilt is not pressed and trimmed we will do this prior to quilting to provide the best possible results for you..

Trimming of quilt: Small $7, med $10, large $15.  

Piecing of the backing: 1st seam $10, $5 each additional seam.

Binding:  Trimming $10;  

Make binding $15 or $25 for quilts over 300” in length.  

Attaching binding by machine to both sides $.16 per inch;  

Machine attach to one side and hand bind to other $.30 inch (when available)
